The Stats

Statistics show that the odds of having a career as a professional athlete are extraordinary. With that being said, A.C.C.E.S.S. Plus Sports™ has created a mentoring component to our program that will enable student-athletes to experience career paths outside of playing professional sports. Student-athletes would be encouraged to research a career that they’d be interested in an shadow an individual in that particular field for a period of time as they learn various aspects of the job.
A.C.C.E.S.S. Plus Sports™ would never discourage an individual's dream of playing professional sports, but we want to ensure that each student-athlete is aware of the challenges and the pitfalls of pursuing that dream. Our hope is to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge to succeed in life beyond sports, should that dream become unattainable.

*According to a study published by the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, 2.9%-about 1-35 of high school basketball playing seniors go on to play at an NCAA school. About 1.3% fewer than 1-75 of NCAA male players will get drafted by an NBA team. That means that 3 of 10,000 senior high school players will go on to be drafted by an NBA team.
